Before you head out (or when the sky looks wrong), these layers show what the weather is doing around you.
Weather radar and conditions
Turn on Weather in Tracking options, under Map. Rain radar is drawn over the map, and a card shows the conditions where you are.
- 1Now: temperature, sky and wind, and the time of the radar image.
- 2The radar's credit shows while it's on.
Lightning, clouds and fires
These three are on the Map layers page.
Lightning
Strikes in the last 15 minutes, refreshed every 5. Covers the Americas.
Satellite clouds
Cloud cover from GOES satellites, refreshed every 10 minutes.
Active fires
Fires seen from space in the last 24 hours. Needs Backup.
Fire dots are coloured by how recently the fire was seen:
- Under 6 hours ago
- 6 to 12 hours ago
- 12 to 24 hours ago
Tap a fire for when it was seen, by which satellite and how sure it is.
